LYRICS

Baby, everyday you’re training to get the gold
That’s why your body’s crazy
But you can’t run from yourself, that’s where it’s difficult

Girl I can see in your eyes that there’s
Something inside that made you evil
Where did you go?
‘Cause it just ain’t fair
Over here thinking ’bout the shit you say
Don’t know why it gets to me

It cuts right on my eye, yeah it hurt, won’t lie
Still can’t see, think I saw you with another guy
Can’t fight, knocked down, then I got over you
Can’t fight no more, you knock me out, what am I supposed to do?

I don’t understand it, tell me how could you be so low
Been swinging after the bell and after all of the whistle blows
Tried to go below the belt, through my chest
Perfect hit to the dome, dammit babe
This ain’t the girl I used to know, no, not anymore
TKO

Baby, now I don’t really know what we’re fighting for
This rematch sex is amazing
But nobody wins if somebody’s heart is swollen
‘Cause when I see you move like you’ve got something inside
That made you lethal
Where did you go, it just ain’t fair
Over here thinking ’bout the shit you do
Don’t know what I got to lose

It cuts right on my eye, yeah it hurt, won’t lie
Still can’t see, think I saw you with another guy
Can’t fight, knocked down, then I got over you
Can’t fight no more, you knock me out, what am I supposed to do?

I don’t understand it, tell me how could you be so low
Been swinging after the bell and after all of the whistle blows
Tried to go below the belt, through my chest
Perfect hit to the dome, dammit babe
This ain’t the girl I used to know, no, not anymore
TKO

I’m out for the count, yeah, girl, you knock me out
It’s just a TKO
I’m out for the count, yeah, girl, you knock me out
With a TKO

I don’t understand it, tell me how could you be so low
Been swinging after the bell and after all of the whistle blows
Tried to go below the belt, through my chest
Perfect hit to the dome, dammit babe
This ain’t the girl I used to know, no, not anymore

THE BACKSTORY

Ok so let’s back things up, start from the start….I know it’s been almost 8 months since my last video…I won’t bore you with the details but I had a shit storm of crap rain on me and I had to put music aside.
I just finished moving and installing myself in a new studio although my computer has got to go on the count that it’s a fucking dinosaur! So all I’m saying is that new music should be on the way on a more regular basis from now on, unless I go broke, that’s the downside of being an independent. So if you like what I do, share it, buy the songs on iTunes and that will allow me to keep doing what I love for your entertainment ;)

So for this video, I saw Justin Timberlake’s new song TKO on the 1st of november and I immediately heard, in my mind, a version with more tension as opposed to Justin’s vocals that seemed so relaxed.
I then decided to challenge myself and try to do a complete version within the timeframe of a week which included (learning the song, writing new arrangements and new structures, recording each instrument, mixing and equing, mastering, choosing an artistic direction for the video, recording the video and editing it. Now I managed to attain my objective but I went from a simple plan to much more “complicated” and time consuming task. The first mistake I made was that while working on the structure of the song I started hearing many of Justin’s songs fitting into this one, so I ventured into a Mash-up…for those who don’t know, it consists of mashing multiple parts of multiple songs together often times even playing two choruses from two different songs simultaneously. Then when I got done recording I started thinking about the legally of the matter and later found the answer I wasn’t hoping for. Since I wanted to sell the song on iTunes, I couldn’t do a mash-up, so I started over the structure to remove all the parts of other songs. Then my computer crashed and corrupted the project…so I had to start from scratch, good thing I remembered most of it. Everything seemed to be going smoothly after this point until I started the editing, I don’t know what’s the problem with my mac but he did NOT want me to piece this video together. Then even though the computer was having a ruff time I got carried away with the complexity of the video…Since the background was black I decided to make floating faces but that idea ended up taking much longer than I had anticipated.
So thanks for your support and I hope you keep enjoying, as much I do, what I do!
